Sandwich panels are lightweight, durable and insulated building materials, usually with insulation material placed between two metal surfaces. The two outer layers of these panels usually consist of metal materials such as aluminium, galvanised steel and stainless steel. The inner insulation layer is made of insulation materials such as polyurethane (PUR), polyisocyanurate (PIR), rock wool or EPS (expanded polystyrene).

The most important feature of these panels is that they can be used both as building elements and as insulation materials. They also offer fast installation, low cost, high energy efficiency and durability. They are used in industrial buildings, warehouses, cold stores and sports halls, where thermal insulation, waterproofing and sound insulation are all required.

Türkiye holds an important position in sandwich panel production. Many domestic companies manufacture these panels and serve both the domestic market and export markets with high quality products. Türkiye has also played a growing role in sandwich panel exports in recent years, with the Middle East, North Africa, the Balkans and European countries among the main destinations. Sandwich panels are preferred for their fast installation, cost-effective construction and high insulation capacity.

According to data from the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), sandwich panel exports from Türkiye reached around USD 100 million in 2023. Türkiye's geographical location, quality production and cost advantages play a major role in this figure.
